Change Starts Here

The 2008 election is not about me.

The 2008 election is not about my opponent.

The 2008 election is not about Democrat or Republican.

The 2008 election is about you.

It is about my friends Al and Tara and their daughter Anna.

Both young professionals who are just starting their family.

It is about my children Katharine and Noah in the middle of their journey as students.

It is about my neighbors Byron and Barbara Fujimoto and their two young adults Blair and Bryce, who are in college.

It is about my 93 year old Grandmother living in Mt. View .

This election is about you, your family and our future here on the Big Island .

I am convinced that the same old, same old way of doing things will not help improve our public education system for Anna and my children.

The same old way of doing things will not improve our economy so that Blair and Bryce can return to Hilo and pursue their chosen professions.

The same old way of doings things will not improve the quality of life for my Grandmother struggling with challenges of the sunset years of her life.

Friends, the same old way of doing things is not an answer, it is not a solution, and it is not leadership.

So CHANGE STARTS HERE.

I am running for State Senate because we need to change the framework of our education system so that our administrators, teachers and children can show everyone how great they are.

I am asking for your help because our economy needs a stronger foundation, not so dependent on tourism so that we can weather the economic storm we are just beginning to feel.

I need your support so that we can be treated by the doctors  we trust and make sure those doctors and nurses can stay in our communities without being forced to move.

So CHANGE STARTS HERE.

This is the time, our campaign for change starts right now.

This is the place, where our campaign for change begins.

And this time, this place and this election is about you, your families and our communities.

I’m proud and honored to stand up for you and I’m running for State Senate to make that change happen.

So please, sign up and volunteer, help make this change happen.  I need you, I need your help and I’m honored to have your support.

ALOHA and MAHALO!
